Remarkable Near Death Experiences
Joyce Hawkes PhD was a well published and respected cell biologist. I considered her a friend when I lived in Seattle. After her near death experience she became an energy healer. She does extraordinary work.
My friend Sue V had severe reflex neurovascular dystrophy and was confined to a wheel chair. Both Yale University and the University of Washington could not heal her. After seeing Joyce for three sessions she could walk again. Today she walks without a limp.
Dr. Hawkes speaks of facilitating the patient's journey to a safe place, where their own inner journey of healing can begin. It begins and ends with love.
Still think near death experiences are simply a hallucination of the dying brain? Click here for another video on her experience
Medley of persons who have died (clinical death) by any criteria, with examination of medical records. They speak movingly of how real the experience is, and how pleasant and even joyous it is to die. (Don't forget what the children say "the light is for later", don't be tempted to experience it before your time)
Two very interesting near death experiences during car crashes.
Case Number One: Note that it is not religious. She also does a good job explaining that these experiences are just as real as this reality. We don't understand that because of the Hollywood Effects, vaporous figures, etc associated with near death experiences. However they experience them precisely as we do this reality.
Case Number Two: Listen to how she describes the tunnel. If I hear another Neurologist say the tunnel is "tunnel vision", I am going to PUKE! She describes being in the tunnel, floating in it, seeing the light in the distance. Data first, scientists, then create hypotheses to explain the data, not the other way around.
David's brain was starved of oxygen for 30 minutes. He had complete death of his cerebral cortex and was diagnosed as being a vegetable for the rest of his life. Instead he made a remarkable recovery. He said he was in the arms of God, and was held like a baby and filled with love.

Kim Clark Sharp was one of my early supporters when I started my near death research as a Resident Physician at the University of Washington. She was a Medical Social Worker at Harborview Hospital and generously taught me everything about near death experiences known at that time. She runs the Seattle chapter of the International Association of Near Death Studies
Kim describes her experience as "very Cary Grant, very B movie" which I love. She was told she had to return to life and "argued with the Big G". Here is a link to her NW Afternoon Appearance for Kim's fans (and who isn't?)
Kim Clark Sharp Video Number 3 (Click Here) This is her NBC News appearance about her finding a patient's tennis shoe, arguably the most important NDE in terms of an individual case "proving" they are real.
A woman nearly dies from a severe intracranial bleed. She encounters a love she has never felt before. She felt completely loved and accepted, "not too short, not too white, not too anything". She felt she could touch the love.
Oprah asks her if the experience seems real and she replies: It seemed more "there" than being here right now. She was out of her body, could read people's thoughts. Afterwards her husband didn't believe her until she told him the exact words of a prayer he thought to himself while she was being resuscitated.
I love that Oprah says "this sounds really weird but I believe you".
Ian Stevenson PhD told me to try to find a near death experience that had many verifiable observations by the experience while he or she was dead. This experience proves that out-of-body perceptions while the person is dead can be validated. This case was extensively investigated by The Learning Channel and Raymond Moody.
I have taken a different approach. My goal is to publish lots of small papers on spirituality in the mainstream medical and scientific literature. I feel a body of evidence is needed to put spiritual visions in their proper cultural context. Well documented near death experiences have been in the literature since Myers "Human Personality and the Survival of Bodily Death" published in 1902. Such cases alone have not made a difference.
These are rare and unusual near death experiences, from Israel. It shows that NDEs transcend all cultures and religion. They have elements that are common to any NDE, and elements that are unique to each person's religion and culture.
Visions of Hell: My personal conclusion is that we die the life we live. So cultures and persons who have a belief in Hell have this sort of dying experience. However, I don't really know. Children simply don't describe experiences of Hell. So I uploaded this segment from Tom Harpur's Documentary on Life After Death. I have total respect for Tom Harpur. His 1996 book Life After Death has not been equaled.
Dannion is the Coyote, the Music Man, the Archetype of the Deity whose antics are a delight. The collective intelligence is awakened, the Coyote promotes love, harmony and connectedness even though he is a trickster.
I once lectured at a New Age Fundamentalist Conference. Dannion Brinkley followed me. I presented my research from American children, Japanese children and African near death experiences showing that each of us has a very personal and unique dying experience. I was actually asked to leave 1/2 way through my presentation as this conflicted with the Conference Organizer's belief that NDEs have a set sequence of events.
Dannion seamlessly then began his lecture with "As Dr. Morse was saying" and went on to present the rest of my lecture! Except I hardly knew Dannion and he had no way of way of knowing my exact lecture, which he repeated almost verbatim. He showed a lot of courage and support for me that day.
There are so many beautiful moments in this near death experience. She reflects on anchoring the light, helping to bring love to this reality and the meaning of life, all after being strangled by her husband.
