"ACADEMIA WITHOUT WALLS"
"The next Paradigm does not deny materialism. It simply says consciousness came first."
"A Miracle is simply a part of nature we don't understand yet. Spiritual neuroscience teaches us that the source of miracles is our connection to the divine . Confusing? Not when you understand THIS is the spiritual reality." - Melvin L Morse MD
This child was resuscitated by my partner David Christopher MD. She was as close to death as one can be and still survive. She reports seeing a "light that told me who I was and where I was to go" and meeting Jesus. It wasn't her time to die.
This is Part 1 of an inspiring story of a baby's miraculous recovery on Christmas Eve from a fatal liver disorder. There can be no doubt about her diagnosis, it was made by Electron Microscopy of her liver. This was one of my patients.
Two sisters cared for their dying mother. In the days before she died, she had a near death experience. Later, at the point of death, they both (independently) had a vision of their mother's soul leaving her body.
They then independently drew pictures of their experience so they could attempt to validate when happened to them. They wanted to see if their drawings of the experience were similar, and they were. They did this validation as it had meaning for them, it was a way of processing and better understanding the experience.
Marathon runner, on the Corporate Ladder, died during a marathon race, right in front of his wife and children. He had a transformation after his near death experience, in which he learned "to stop and smell the roses" from time to time.
A man was dying of leukemia. At the point of death, he meets his guardian angel. We learn that not every healing involves a healing of the body, sometimes patients are healed into death.
This case is remarkable because his wife saw the angel as well. As is typical of angel encounters, the angel appeared completely real. As a general rule, spiritual experiences appear precisely as real as everything else in this reality. This should no surprise us, as this IS the spiritual reality.
It seems every drug addict, in the depths of despair, prays to a "God" for help, makes some sort of bargain that they will never use drugs again. So did Andy Lakey after one night of wild partying which resulted in his thinking he was going to die from too many drugs. Except this time, a host of angels appeared and transformed him into Angel Painter with a mission.

This is a segment of an old Sally Jesse Rafael Show from the 1990s. The video is fairly ragged but her story is so powerful I had to upload it.
In battlefield in Iraq, a soldier was reassured by an angel in Iraq that everything was going to be alright. It wasn't so much what the angel looked like, but it was what it made him feel like, made him feel "soft and white".
This is the spiritual reality. 2/3 of the mass of the Universe is invisible to us. (So called dark matter) It is intermingled with this reality. Consider of course that the fundamental building blocks of matter (quarks, etc) also exist in those other realities, just with different spins. Since consciousness is also part of those hidden matter based realities, conscious beings would theoretically evolve there as well.
My science theory is that our brains are the mediators and sensors between these different realities. So our right temporal lobe is possibly the hub between the various realities. Regardless, this is an example of a human angel.
I was part of "Miracle Detective" Randall Sullivan's investigation into Akiane. I was asked if she "really" saw Heaven at age 4. I concluded that she did, based on similarities between her pictures at age 4-6 and children's near death experience pictures.
For example, she has one picture on her website called "Rainbow River" (click here) which is strikingly similar to the children who saw heaven as part of their near death experience have drawn.
"This is the spiritual reality! Why wait until you die to learn the lessons of the near death experience?" Melvin L Morse MD

I have seen miracles in my life. Here are a few of them.
Miracle 1: Frank Oski's Angel
As a Medical Student, I cared for a child who died of heart disease at age 3. This was devastating to me and the other students. I felt this was so wrong, the Universe must be an insane place, to allow this sort of thing to happen. I didn't want to practice medicine any more.
Dr. Oski was a gruff demanding attending. Yet when he saw our distress he took the time to tell us about his angel story.
He said that when he was a medical student, the same thing had happened to him. A patient he was caring for died of a congenital illness at an early age. He cried out to "god" that this was wrong and it shook his faith that there could be a "god".
I Don't Expect You To Believe My Story
That night, an angel appeared to him at the foot of his bed. She told him that we live again and again. She said to him that children who die at an early age know secrets of living that cannot be learned any other way. She also said those who care for children who are less than perfect learn these secrets.
We were astonished that an attending at Johns Hopkins would say anything so ridiculous. Both me and my closest friend had to suppress laughter. Afterwards when we talked about it, we thought that Dr. Oski probably made up the story to make us feel better about the patient dying.
Some Lessons of Love Can Only Be Learned By Caring for the Dying
Dr. Oski later said to us: I don't expect you to believe my story. I wouldn't believe it if someone told it to me. I only ask that you be open to the ordinary miracles of everyday life.
Miracle 2: My Baseball Bicycle Ride Miracle
This miracle doesn't seem like much of a miracle, more like a malfunction in my iPhone. It is tiny, trivial, could easily have been overlooked by me if I haven't already learned to take time to look for ordinary miracles.
Yet for me, it was so powerful I sank to my knees and called out to a "God" I don't believe in to work "his" will in my life. (Click Here)
