Dr. Morse is going back into practice!
November 25, 2008 on 2:58 am | In Dr. Morse's Practice | 4 CommentsFirst of all, I want to thank you all again for visiting my page. I’ve just learned that my blog is your favorite thing on this site. Melvin is jealous. He said that there were 90 visits to my page in the last month, and less than ten on any other page. I am so flattered! But now you must explore the rest of the site, he has written some great articles lately.
So anyway, I realize I haven’t written in awhile. We have been doing a lot of discovering and studying, when we are not parenting and living regular lives too, with the holidays coming…
Oh and guess what! Dr. Morse is going back to work! He is going to be working in Milton (DE) for Dr. Lowell Scott. I’m so excited, I love seeing him with the kids. I remember back in Seattle where he used to work, everyone around knew him. We lived in Tacoma, it was an hour or so away, but even in Tacoma, people knew him, in grocery stores, in the park, you know. Once we were on an overseas flight, and you know how you see the pilot when you are getting off the plane, the pilot knew him! He had a son who was a patient of his. A Pediatrician has always been his “day job”. All this other stuff is great, and well it’s true that it may just change the world, but I have always known him as a pediatrician first.
So anyway that’s the highlight of the month.
Also one other thought, I was thinking of calling this my page, instead of blog. I just can’t get the hang of the blog stuff. As you see there are still no categories, and this page just keeps getting longer and longer. I might put past months in a category or an archive if I can figure out how, but anyway, this is mostly a monologue too. Don’t get me wrong though I love doing this, and I like it this way, where I just write and there’s no real structure. Anyway I was thinking that calling it my page would be more accurate. You can still comment, nothing will change in that.
OK as Tigger would say, TTFN, Tah Tah for Now!
Our Super-Neural Networks
November 4, 2008 on 8:35 pm | In Brain Science, My crazy ideas | 3 CommentsI’m sure you’ve heard our theory that memories are stored outside the brain. I just thought of something this morning. I think our memories are stored in that electromagnetic field that surrounds us, sometimes called our super neural network, sometimes called the aura. This is an Electromagnetic field. It’s what is unique to each one of us, it is what affects computers and other sensitive equipment sometimes. And get this… Even animals and plants have it! That means if this electromagnetic field is our spirit, that means there is a heaven for animals, and also plants. Well from what I’ve heard from children’s and even adults stories of their experiences, there are plants and animals there. What makes our electromagnetic field unique? Maybe it’s shaped by our memories and what we learn. I would then understand the transfer from short-term memory to long-term memory. Your brain remembers specific events that occurred in this time frame. It keeps you updated on where you are and what’s going on. Then over time, when there are things that you say you’ll always remember, that’s when it is etched in your electromagnetic field, or your long-term memory. It becomes part of who you are.
I’m going to post this much for now, I have to put Melody down for her nap
